Warehouse personnel needed a faster, mobile alternative to desktop SAP - SAP was tied to a wired environment, so warehouse personnel relied on paper-based processes to track inventory. The same data then had to be handled again in SAP, increasing the time required and the potential for errors.

Warehouse personnel lacked real-time work order updates - Employees often had to locate a computer to access work order information needed to make an informed decision. This limited access to current information during warehouse operations.

Manual material entry and repeated processing took time - Users manually entered material numbers and repeated the same process multiple times depending on the number of materials. The existing process was time-consuming and prone to errors.

Stock checks, shipment creation, and packing lacked automation - Warehouse personnel manually monitored and inspected stock details. Shipment creation and packing were also difficult because of the lack of automation and native SAP tables displaying unnecessary order-fulfillment information.

Solutions

Provide role-based access to warehouse processes - Liquid UI provided customized launchpads for Warehouse, Production, and Shipment. Users could access tasks including generating purchase orders, bin-to-bin transfers, cycle counts, shipment creation and packing, and barcode and receipt printing from the dashboard.

Enable dynamic SAP transactions on handheld Scanguns - Liquid UI enabled dynamic transaction screens that responded to entered field values. Users could use the same MIGO transaction to generate a purchase order or create a material based on the values entered.

Capture data through customized barcodes - Customized barcode scanning allowed warehouse personnel to populate details with a single scan, reducing manual data entry and the potential for errors.

Validate input during warehouse transactions - Input-field validation helped ensure data was entered correctly. This supported inventory control and reduced the time spent on inventory checks.
