Accessing order status required multiple navigation steps – Users had to open an order, navigate to operations, and select additional screens to view order status.
Recording equipment history required switching transactions – Users copied the order number from CATS into the Change Work Order transaction (IW32) to enter failure and history data.
CATS display mode limited order updates – Standard SAP functionality allowed users to view orders from CATS, but not edit them.
Capturing work variance information was inefficient – Entering variant codes, hours, and short descriptions required multiple manual steps.
Liquid UI allowed us to manipulate/combine SAP screens to improve the data entry process
Solution
Enhanced CATS workflow for maintenance tasks – Users can enter time, confirm PM operations, enter notification history, and change TECO orders directly from the CATS screen.
Consolidated SAP PM screens – Fields from multiple screens and tabs were aggregated into a customized order header tab to reduce navigation.
Direct entry of failure and equipment history data – Technicians can pull associated notifications and enter failure data directly from CATS.
Simplified entry of work variance information – A pop-up interface allows users to capture variance codes, hours, and short descriptions from the Time Entry field.
